Don't be afraid to rethink your layout. We relocated the kitchen to the biggest and brightest room of this house, formerly an underutilized family room. The new kitchen features blue cabinets (Benjamin Moore Hale Navy), an island with a mitered countertop, and a breakfast nook with new sliding doors to the back deck. The new layout also made room for a built-in bar and a mudroom/laundry room. At the front of the house, the existing dining room got a dose of MCM design and new wainscotting.
